/ March 4, 2020

NEA Baptist Cardiac Rehabilitation celebrate’ s National Cardiac Rehab Week 2020. February 10th – 14th we celebrated the life-saving impact of cardiac rehabilitation in reducing the devastating effects of heart disease and its effect on improving the quality of life for patients and their families. This year’s theme, “New Start Better Heart,” honored the patients, families, and healthcare professionals who are dedicated to improving heart health. Cardiac Rehabilitation Week was created by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), and coincides with both American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day in an effort to create more interest in heart health.

We celebrated this week with different themed days, games, and heart healthy snacks.

NEA Baptist’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program is a medically monitored outpatient program administered by a group of registered nurses, registered dietician, exercise physiologist, and social worker. The program consists of supervised exercise, nutrition classes, healthy mind classes, and cooking classes. Program length is typically 36 sessions over 12 weeks and is covered by most insurance plans.
