September 25 - October 1, 2011
Anyone can be a part of Hope Week. Expressions and demonstrations of Hope vary greatly, and that variety is encouraged during the week. Past events have involved groups and individuals in a variety of activities that included: household item collection for the Women's Crisis Center, food drives for the Food Bank, job fairs, pet adoptions, mentoring by sororities at area schools, hopeful art exhibitions, carnivals for special needs children, self esteem seminars for girls, knitting & crocheting, office projects at area non-profits, and testimonies of hope from cancer survivors. The projects have been as varied as the groups involved. The one constant has been and continues to be the emphasis on celebrating and fostering Hope.
A great way to participate in Hope Week is the Wall of Hope. You can create a Wall of Hope by selling paper Hope Dandelions to post on a wall or window in your business. The Hope Dandelions are $1.00 each.
