NEA Baptist hosts “Be One in a Million” Luncheon with Dr. Michael Isaacson

Jonesboro, Ark., January 31, 2013 - Dr. Michael Isaacson, cardiologist with NEA Baptist Clinic, will be the featured speaker at the "Be One in a Million" luncheon on February 28th at 11:30 am. To be held at Southwest Church of Christ Life Center, the free seminar focuses on the "Million Hearts" campaign, a national initiative to reduce heart disease. Dr. Isaacson will also focus on heart disease awareness and preventative measures. Free cholesterol and blood pressure screenings will be available at the luncheon, as well as other heart health information and resources.

The goal of "Million Hearts Campaign" is to prevent 1 million hearts attacks and strokes over the next five years by increasing the awareness of the ABC'S of heart health. The ABC'S acronym stands for: Aspirin for people at risk, Blood pressure control, Cholesterol management, and Smoking cessation. Take the Million Hearts pledge with NEA Baptist at millionhearts.hhs.gov. It's free and it's easy.

According to the Heart Foundation, heart disease ranks as the highest cause of death for both men and women in the United States, taking approximately one million lives annually.  In addition, every thirty-three seconds someone dies from cardiovascular disease in the United States "which is roughly the equivalent of a September 11th-like tragedy repeating itself every twenty-four hours, 365 days of the year."

Admission to the heart talk is free, but tickets are required for entry. Tickets are available at NEA Baptist Clinic Corporate Office at 1835 Grant Ave. in Jonesboro or by calling 870-934-5401.
